He graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1961 majoring in welding. He is the deputy chief engineer of the General Institute of mechanical science and director of the technical committee of Harbin Institute of welding, and a senior engineer of research class. In May 1995, he was elected as the academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering.
